In warfare fear is a luxury you cannot afford…
“Then came one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, and seeing him, he fell at his feet and implored him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter is at the point of death. Come and lay your hands on her, so that she may be made well and live.” And he went with him. And a great crowd followed him and thronged about him. While he was still speaking, there came from the ruler’s house some who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.” And when he had entered, he said to them, “Why are you making a commotion and weeping? The child is not dead but sleeping.” Taking her by the hand he said to her, “Talitha cumi,” which means, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.””

Amidst warfare one thing we note is that we can be outnumbered. However, outnumbered does not mean overpowered in the kingdom. The burden and furnace of affliction should not lead you to shrink or succumb to negative proclamations and disdain . For God can win even with a few and at the very edge of calamity. Fear can be instigated by the enemy to take you off track. Once fear is allowed to settle in, you allow all other things that can cause you to stumble. But hear the word of the Lord tonight beloved, do not fear!
In warfare, fear is a luxury you cannot afford, be restless but not anxious. Restless until the yoke is broken(Genesis 27:40). Realize that in the Bible the solution for anxiety is prayer? Philippians 4:6, lays down the anitdote for fear; prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. When fear is loud, prayer must be even louder, when fear speaks downfall pray even more earnestly. The illusion fear creates is to take your mind off the promises of God, to emotional contingency that pushes you to move ahead of God or begin to formulate your own escape.
Even at the verge of urgency, Beloved God is never late. From the case of Jairus, he had hope based on the access he gained to inform Jesus of his sick daughter. But the bad report of the multitude had almost caused him to lose hope. But here comes Jesus, the One who has the final say, the One who opens doors no one can shut, the Eminent One, declared to him, do not fear, only believe! Hear this, another antidote for fear is revealed; Faith! As seen in 1John 5:4, the victory that has overcome the world even our Faith.
Beloved as you rise to your prayer altar tonight, it doesn’t matter how dead any situation seem. Arise in faith, believe in what God says . And when you find your faith failing, by the grace that has appeared to us lift up your hands and say, “Lord help my unbelief”(Mark 9:24), Increase my faith” (Luke 17:5)
