Friday Night-Warfare 101

We legislate by prayer…

legislate

/ˈlɛdʒɪsleɪt/

To legislate is the act of making or enacting laws. It is a verb performed by official government bodies (like a parliament, city council, or congress) to establish new rules or mandate behavior regarding a specific activity.

  • Legislate against: To pass a law that bans or prevents something
  • Legislate for / on: To create laws regarding a specific topic
  • Legislate away: To eliminate or remove a problem by passing a law

“For wicked and deceitful mouths are opened against me, speaking against me with lying tongues. They encircle me with words of hate, and attack me without cause. In return for my love they accuse me, but I give myself to prayer.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭109‬:‭2‬-‭4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

The response to every form of physical, spiritual and emotional distress is prayer to the man or woman of the spirit. There are many times, situations confront us expecting a response. Unfortunately many are easily touched, easily ticked off and easy to respond in the flesh.

For the man or woman of prayer, your response is to legislate in the spirit through prayer. There are battles that require that stature is maintained through silence, and authority is to be exercised in the spirit. Power is in the tongue, by words the foundations of the earth were brought into being. By words the economy of the earth was built. The Lord called forth things that were not into being and by His Word He continues to reign (Psalm 33:6 ) .

Hence my dear brother or sister, the world indoctrinates us to use the mechanisms of defense to challenge, to advocate or to combat. However hear the word of the Lord in Isaiah 30:15 in quietness and confidence shall be your strength. Wield authority and strength in the face of adversity by keeping still. For the Lord shall fight for you and you shall hold your peace( Exodus 14:14). Build the fortitudes of prayer by the words of your mouth in the secret place. Beloved, in warfare, victory comes by legislating through prayer. Call forth the things which are not in accordance with the will of God, for authority has been given to you (Lamentations 3:37). A dimension of authority has been given to man to speak into existence as the Father wills.

Therefore when the enemy speaks failure, declare victory. When men profess doom, as David said, I give myself to prayer. Out of the definitions laid forth in the introduction my favorite is this; To eliminate or remove a problem by passing a law . Hear this Beloved, the priesthood of Jesus inscribes that where there is a new priesthood there is a new law.

“For when there is a change in the priesthood, there is necessarily a change in the law as well. This makes Jesus the guarantor of a better covenant. The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever. Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭7‬:‭12‬, ‭22‬-‭25‬ ‭ESV‬‬

With this, know that the law of men through their wicked thoughts and harsh words do not determine your outcome. Enforce a new law by raising an altar after the covenant of Christ. Legislate in the place of prayer!
