Friday Night- Warfare 101

“Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭30‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In warfare, your greatest disadvantage is to be misaligned.

Jesus showed us the way of warfare in the statement from John 14:30 . His total devotion and surrender to God was a symbol of the power derived from total alignment to God. It also symbolizes the strength of how having a right standing with God, builds authority in the Spirit.

As the Psalmist speaks of in Psalm 45:6-7

“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness; you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions;” ESV

The notion of alignment is from different angles beyond the concept of sin. It positions one to be first in total obedience to the leadings and dealings of the Holy Spirit. It succumbs us to chastening, direction and pruning which wields power and a legal standing in the Spirt. A mighty apostle once said demons know when one carries real authority in the Spirit. This was also revealed in the story of the sons of Sceva, who thought by merely using the name of Jesus demons would tremble. (Acts 19)

Contrary to this we realize how demons also recognized Jesus by His very presence. From Luke 4: 33-36, we see how these entities noted His authority and standing with God, thereby questioning Him of their destruction.

“And in the synagogue there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice, “Ha! What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God.” But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm. And they were all amazed and said to one another, “What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!””
‭‭ ‭ESV‬‬

To refer back to the sons of Sceva, the question was thrown, Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you? Acts‬ ‭19‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ . So beloved, as you enter into your secret place tonight ensure your heart is in right standing, your consecration is intact, and you are free of offense. Because truly so righteousness is a weapon. And authority is not a matter of being loud, but a result of obedience and total submission to God. Your alignment speaks volume in the spirit.
