“For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”
Hebrews 5:12-14 KJV
“(for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”
2 Corinthians 10:4-6 KJV
From our introductory verses in Ezekiel 44:16-17 , the inner court, where priests ought to minister comes the clarity in discernment . Have you ever experienced the presence of God so mighty in the place of prayer? The peace that comes with it, when the Lord begins to direct and instruct you, is tremendous. In the outer courts, there is not much to experience, except the rowdiness of the flesh. It takes deeper realms to experience clarity in our discernment. Many times we would say, I felt something told me not to, but in that moment there would also be the doubt to go ahead anyway. With the proper level of consecration required you can go deeper into the things of God.
Discernment is a deep knowing far beyond words, and can be as accurate as we have quieted the flesh and are able to discern the will of God.
Our scripture of study this day further makes us understand the importance of maturity of the believer to discern good and evil. Matters of life cannot be decided carelessly. While we are yet operating in the flesh, making decisions in this realm is costly. Strong meat the word says, are for them that have attained full age by the exercising of their senses and milk is for them that are unskillful in the word of righteousness.
Conviction begins with judgment, which should lead to brokenness and repentance and then lead you to unto the right path. The Holy Spirit can take us as deep as our obedience, the quicker we are to obey His promptings the more He can help us in other detrimental issues. One cannot expect to attain higher spiritual senses when convictions are never obeyed.
Discernment helps us wage a good warfare. As our second scripture of focus implies, we do not wrestle against flesh and blood. Waging war in the flesh is as coming to a gun fight with a knife. The condition for being able to know what artillery to bring to the battlefield is to walk in the Spirit. In the same chapter an important question is posed; “do you look on things after the outward appearance?”(2Corinthians 10:7). In the same manner the Bible makes us understand that there is a path which no fowl knoweth, And which the vulture’s eye hath not seen: The lion’s whelps have not trodden it, Nor the fierce lion passed by it (Job 28:7-8 KJV). There is a place deeper than the senses of the flesh can determine, a place beyond feelings and intuition. The Lords grants us access it depends on us to lay hold. We have an unction from the Holy One, and we know all things (1 John 2:20 KJV), the Bible says. We have an advantage, what sets us apart is the Holy Ghost and our victory over the wiles of the adversary is how deep we can press into the things of the Spirit. Good morning Beloved.
May the Lord make you great my Daugther.
