GOD IS A GOOD GOD!

Mathew 7:11 NKJV If ye then being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him.

Deuteronomy 32:11-12 NKJV, As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings; so the Lord did lead him.

The reason many have departed away from God is that they believe, He is the orchestrator of the evil we see in the World. The verses of study today portray the nature of God just as parents wanting the best for their children, giving them good things, protecting them, and providing for their every need, what is your perception about God? Let’s get into the Word

A Father who chastens out of love

What is good parenting? In today’s world, every parent has their style of raising their children and relating to them in their own way. We might judge or question the way some chose to bring up their kids but the results in their adulthood will always show the effectiveness of that upbringing. Biblically, we understand, that you train a child the way he should go, that when he grows he will not depart from it. Training a child as a parent, there are some liberties and restrictions, you will grant to your child. You set limits and boundaries which would benefit the child in the real world. As children, we all obeyed this norm, as our parents laid it out for us. As innocent children, we had the trust in our parents during this phase of our lives, though they instilled fear in us at times. The Bible also helps us understand that without chastisement we do not qualify as sons but bastards, so if we pay reverence to earthly fathers who corrected us would we not rather be in subjection unto the Father of Spirits? (Hebrews 12:8). Whom the Father loves, he chastises, Sons are not sons if they cannot be trained . Love is also demonstrated through discipline, God loves us in this same way and trains us due to the love He has for us. If men who can commit the most atrocious and grievous acts want good for their children, how much more than our Father in heaven who loves unconditionally and knows us so deeply to the depth of our innermost thoughts.

A Father who desires good for His children

Our verse of study in Mathew 11:7 can be traced back to Luke 11:11-13, where Jesus gives a significant exposition on the topic. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? This demonstrates, the fatherly nature of God to provide, not merely to provide but with due care and precision of what is good for us. No parent in their right mind would hand over things to their children knowing it would harm them. Our earthly parents sometimes give us gifts or even provisions suitable to our age, taking precautions about the safety of what they hand over to us. How much more than our Father in heaven who created us, knows our innermost thoughts, fears, strengths, and weaknesses and gives accordingly. In Mathew 6:9, when Jesus taught the manner by which we ought to pray, He began by imploring God as a Father, “our Father in heaven”, the verses that further follow, demonstrates the posture of sons and daughters before the Father; through dependence, seeking His Counsel and His ways and His protection

A Father who leads

The issue of men, hiding from God or the world attempting to take God out of the equation is due to the fact that they have the wrong perspective about God. Seen in the second verse of study, in Deuteronomy 32:11, which refers to Jacob and how God found him in the desert, led him about, instructed him, and kept him as the apple of his eye ( verse 9-10). When we begin to see God as a Father, all sufficient and good but just, loving and forgiving but upright and disapproving of iniquity, we can learn to trust Him and obey Him. Due to rebelliousness and men wanting to rule their own lives, we make decisions contrary to His principles, which in the end is always destruction. Jacob as referred to above was no different from the prodigal son after He stole what would have been given to him had he the patience to wait(Genesis 27). He ended up toiling for it, but had a turnaround, in the end, learned to find sufficiency in God, and received the blessing(Genesis 35). A son only benefits from the Father by total obedience and surrender, a son seeking their independence only bears unnecessary burdens, and routes through life without proper guidance. Today, decide to know God more, His nature is not far from a parent wanting the best for his child, but even better than any earthly parent.
