“Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, Who is this that darkeneth counsel By words without knowledge? Gird up now thy loins like a man; For I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? Or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? Or who laid the corner stone thereof; When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy? Or who shut up the sea with doors, When it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? When I made the cloud the garment thereof, And thick darkness a swaddlingband for it, And brake up for it my decreed place, And set bars and doors, And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: And here shall thy proud waves be stayed?”
Job 38:1-11 KJV
“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.”
Daniel 3:16-18 KJV
Knowing God as creator is the epitome of knowing His divine nature, knowing God intimately means knowing the truth of His existence, disposition and ideologies . Creation attests to His majesty, yet we do not know Him when trials arise, when seasons of testing arise do we see Him in the same lamplight when there are merry days? Do we have daunting faith in Him, knowing His person is unchangeable? In this study we are exploring the nature of God to strengthen our faith in the presence or absence of tribulations. Knowing Him in this essence helps you navigate through all circumstances and challenges.
In our scripture of study today, I am immediately drawn to Hebrews 12:2a, looking unto to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. This is truly in alignment with God as Alpha Omega(Revelations 1:8). The challenge God throws to Job, is a weighty one. However, this goes to prove the splendor and supremacy of God, and exhibits the limitations of man. If this is the nature of the God we serve, whom or what shall we fear? The ability of God to create the things that be from nothing, should comfort us in knowing the extent of His power. God as creator is more than capable of dealing with the frail situations and circumstances of man.
By this, our faith should rest assured in Him as the three Hebrew boys. They understood the power of God to save or not to save, hereby they were willing to suffer for Him or for His glory to shown through them. Our faith in God will always be tested through ups and downs. In the down moment, it proves our love for Him based on our revelation of who He is. When we can acknowledge who He is rather than what he can do, we shift the paradigm for God to show Himself strong. As we journey through this study, challenge yourself to know who God is, for this is where true faith begins. Good morning Beloved.
