“Now when the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered together to Aaron, and said to him, “Come, make us gods that shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.””
Exodus 32:1 NKJV
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Romans 12:2 NKJV
Many believers are stuck in their old ways as a result of misplaced identities. Modern day idolatry is not only the literal adaptation of foreign gods, but also the ways of men that likens and attributes the world of men, rather than an inward transformation. The masses are not truly transformed but rather assimilated into the traditions of today. In our study today, let us delve into some the ways this phenomenon affects our true identity in God.
From our theme scriptures in Daniel 5 in comparison with our study scriptures today, realize that both generations had one thing in common. They were forgetful and ignorant of the ways by which God had revealed himself strong. Belshazzar forgot the lessons of his father Nebuchadnezzar while the Israelites forgot the God who brought them out of the land of Egypt. This is so spoken of our generation today we conform to the ways of our world rather than reveal the transformation that has taken place in our inward being. Do we ever learn?
Accordingly in Romans 12:2, the purpose of the renewal of mind is to come to the point where we can prove the good, acceptable and perfect will of God. There is a place in God where there is no confusion, in fact as the Bible declares God is not a the author confusion(1 Corinthians 14:33). What is happening in our world today, is that we are still comfortable in the ways of the world we live in, and assimilate rather than dominate with Godly principles. Hence we are in utter confusion as to the ways of God and accomplishing His purposes.
The days of ignorance the Bible declares that God overlooked (Acts 17:30-31). We must come to the understanding of our divine nature and conform to the divine way of life. This life is original, and births original ideas conforming to the divine.
“Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising.”
Acts 17:29 NKJV
To actualize our true identity, we must come to this conclusion as our patriarchs; we are strangers and pilgrims on earth. And we seek our homeland which is a better country and we are not ashamed of our God (Hebrews 11:13-16 NKJV). Good morning Beloved.
