“I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.”
John 15:1-6 KJV
The mystery of the vine and branches is not an imperative to keep us bound but to give us our rightful identity and open us up to the right channel for exploits. The goal is to make us recognize the original intent of God for our lives rather than find ourselves tossed to and fro, wandering in life with our own ambitions which comes to nought. Partnership with Abba is key to our fruitfulness on earth, beloved let’s get into the study.
Christ as the Head is the main objective of John 15.As head, the authority of Christ, is not to relate to us as subordinates but coheads. According to Psalm 8:6, the Bible says God has granted man dominion over the works of His hands and has put all things under his feet. This already reveals God’s agenda to make man custodian over His plans. Our pursuit for God should not be based on what we want to achieve but rather what God wants to attain on earth. God does not only seek a lineage of righteousness on earth, but also a seed of generation continuing in His good works and his ordained purposes.
The branch as part of the vine receives the same nutrients, and flourishes. Should a branch be cut off, that means it loses everything and eventually dies. Abiding in God is our very fountain of life. Life continues when productivity is ensured. The proof of life is fruitfulness. Hence beloved, as part of the vine as formerly stated we reign as co-heirs on earth. Daily we must seek out the eternal purposes of God.
“It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: But the honour of kings is to search out a matter.”
Proverbs 25:2 KJV
Kings rule by the authority bestowed upon them. By daily seeking to abide with God, we enact the principles of God on earth and are able to realize what beckons on the heart of God on earth. Thus if we abide in Him and He in us, we partner with Him to truly see His kingdom reign on earth as it is in heaven.
