The leadings of God-sequence of instructions part 2

Joshua 1:7

Only be strong and very courageous being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.

Patterns are inevitable in executing God’s plan. The man who wants to do God’s will must be ready to execute with precision and explicit instruction. Though the man for the plan may change, the pattern and requirements stay the same. Today we explore further the leading of God by instruction… let’s dive into the Word.

As already established, a sequence is a series of instructions following a specific pattern and partnership with God is key. In today’s study, we see that following the sequence of God’s instruction comes with a like-wise phenomenon. The Lord instructs Joshua, to stick to the law that Moses his servant commanded. To meditate on it day and night and be careful to act accordingly. Partnering with God to execute his plan in this context can be compared to a contract. When one signs a contract you are consenting to be legally bound by its terms and conditions. This means you read the terms to understand them before you choose to sign. So is anyone called to fulfill the will of God, in this contract, you are forever bound by its terms. The day you choose to violate the terms of the contract, you fall out of alignment. The importance of the Word of God is significant in following the sequence of instructions as ordained by Him. God will do nothing outside His Word. As the Psalmist said for You have magnified Your word above all Your name, (Psalms‬ ‭138‬:‭2‬b‭NKJV). Other versions read for you have so exalted your solemn decree that it surpasses your fame (Psalms‬ ‭138‬:‭2‬ ‭NIV‬‬). This refers to God’s authority and reputation, God’s word and his authority are exalted above all creation which is a sign of His integrity preceding Him. Hence to exercise precision in execution the Word is our first point of reference.

The Word of God is predominant in how God leads us. Jesus himself prayed in John 17:17,” Sanctify them by truth; your Word is truth. The purpose of the Word in God’s leading, is to help us distinguish divine from self, and Godly from demonic. The more of the Word dwelling in us the more we have a sound mind to obey what the Lord instructs. Joshua hence was told this book of the law, shall not depart from his lips, but he is to meditate upon it day and night. The Word also reveals the nature of God, there is a Spirit aspect of the Word which is able to bring us into a realm and give us life. Jesus said the words I speak are Spirit and life (John 6:63). It was the spoken Word of God, that gave us breath and it is that same Word that sustains us. Man shall not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God (Mathew 4:4). Good morning and happy new month beloved.
